Wedding Weekend #1

(A blurry picture of the new Mrs. Sarah Garner at her luncheon)
We had our first wedding of the month this past Thursday. Benson and Sarah Garner were married on Thursday morning at 9 am in the Mesa temple. We were invited to attend their sealing, which was a very neat experience because it was in the same sealing room Dan and I were sealed in. They were so happy! It was such a wonderful thing to see our friends doing something that is so important and that will bring them such happiness.

Benson was one of Dan's mission companions. We also had our close friends, Wesley and Tiffany Webster from St. George down for the wedding also. Wes, Benson and Dan were all roommates/companions out in Philly and we all live so close now that we have kept in pretty close contact, and all of us wives have since made close ties with each other as well. It's fun because while the boys go and talk about all their mission stories and their other boyish things, us girls can talk about stuff together too.

Wes and Dan were asked to do the music at Benson and Sarah's luncheon too, so we were doing the wedding thing pretty much all day. It was really neat though, Wes and Dan did an excellent job. They switched off playing piano and then Wes sang "The Love of My Life" from Jim Brickman in the middle of the luncheon too. It was fun to see all 3 boys together again and having so much fun together at such a joyous event. Tiff and I were admiring how calm and happy Sarah looked. She was beautiful and glowing all day. It really was precious.

So, we did the wedding thing pretty much all day Thursday. The rest of the weekend we really just spent hanging out and spending time with the Webster's. Friday, we went to Saguaro Lake with Wes and Tiff, their aunt and uncle, and their 3 boys. It was a lot of fun. I tried wakeboarding for the first time and wasn't able to get myself up out of the water. The last time I tried, the boat pulled me hard enough that I twisted my knee just enough that something in there snapped a little. It's been aching and hurting me since then, I hope I just pulled something and that it isn't really serious. It was a lot of fun though.

Friday night after we got home from the lake, I went to Aubrey's bridal shower. It was a lot of fun and it was fun to see a bunch of girls that I haven't seen in a long time. I was so sore and sunburnt when I got home, we didn't really get to do anything else that night. Dan and I went to Applebees for a quick dinner and then came home and went to bed.

Saturday morning we slept in late for once, which was SO nice. We took my bridesmaid dress in for alterations and then went to meet Sharianna and her little ones for lunch. Then we went to pick up Marie, Wes and Tiff and head out to the D-Backs Game! It was a great game! It got very exciting at the end, and the Diamondbacks came out on top with a score of 4-3. We had so much fun because there was so many people that came with us. We had Wes and Tiff in from St. George, which was fun because Tiffany had never been to a pro sport event before. We had Sharianna and Jon and their 2 kiddos which was a lot of fun, as Hailey burst into tears after noticing Wes's 3/4 finger nub, hahaha. Marie, old friends who have since moved out of state, and the usual crowd. It was a lot of fun to all be together. We all went to Applebees for a late dinner after the game and back to play a few games before we called it a night.

Hopefully next weekend's wedding will be as wonderful and happy of an experience as this weekend's was...
